UPDATE: The pagoda suffered serious damage in the devastating magnitude 7.7 earthquake of March 28, 2025. Conservation and restoration work has since commenced. Approximately 75% of the historic structures within the Inwa Ancient Cultural Heritage Zone were damaged, including the complete collapse of 13 pagodas.
